You might be thinking, why should I get on the plane, fly to Europe and get high in Amsterdam. Many say that Amsterdam is no longer a place to go to to get high.
However, europeans mastered the act of selling medical flower at local coffeeshops. Every coffeeshop is different and delivers a unique spirit and karma.
Since I am more into Indica flower, I will share my top 5 favourite coffeeshops in Amsterdam, Netherlands where you must try Indica! After reading all the reviews and travel guides I decided to look for cheeper tickets and made my way to the heart of the Europe.
Right after getting off the plane I made my way through a map of coffee shops in Amsterdam.
For this trip I decided to bring my own smoking accessories. I felt like right before my departure I finally got the ultimate smoking set for a trip like this. So having done that I would like to share what I got myself:
- RAW Smell Proof Smokers Pouch, Medium size. It is my kind of smell proof pouch! It's so light and you can fit all you need in here.
- RAW Artesano 1 1/4 With tray, papers and tips, 3 in 1. I personally like rice papers But RAW is my all time favourite. So I decided to get both.
- Clipper RAW Mini Tube Lighters, this lighter light, easy to fit into a pocket.
- Aluminum Grinder 4 PC, Hammercraft, I am looking to get myself something fancy, but this grinder does the job.
I ordered my set at ISmokeFresh.com, online smoke shop. Super fast delivery, I received my packaged in 3 days.
So now that we are ready to move on, I posted a map of Amsterdam. I took a train from the Schiphol airport to the Central Railway Station (Centraal).
I found Amsterdam as a very cute and safe city. Locals are super welcoming and open. In case you get lost, you can always ask for direction.
You can see that the city is very convenient to navigate. My top 5 coffeeshops are 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from the Central Railway Station.
1. Barney's Coffeeshop, Haarlemmerstraat 102;
Mon-Sun 8:30am – 1am
Barney's Coffeeshop is located in a trendy section of the city just to the west of Central Railway Station. I was hungry after the flight and enjoyed a really good breakfast at this place. Barney's Coffeeshop was my first place.
This coffeeshop is popular with cannabis experts. Barney’s has a long and rich history of entering cannabis competitions, with many trophies won.
I took a look around the shop and noted that many cannabis awards are displayed above the tables. It is really impressive! I found some of their award winning flower and hashish on the menu. The genetics are largely new, often with Barney’s own unique blend. This is a must go place, I wanted to stay there and hang around with locals but I 5 more stops ahead of me.
2. Amnesia, Herengracht 133;
Mon-Sun 9:30am - 1am
Amnesia is a popular coffeeshop within locals and travellers. Since I was there in the morning I had no issue finding a seat. But keep in mind that in the evening it gets crowded and you might find yourself standing.
Amnesia Coffeeshop is known for a large selection of snacks! I had a bakery-style cake and a milkshake. In my opinion they make some of the best milkshakes! I highly recommend one if you are in the mood.
As I mentioned earlier, all coffeeshops have their own character. I loved the feeling of a nightclub in Amnesia, with a lot of decors around the place.
3. Tweede Kamer, Heisteeg 6;
Mon-Sun 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 a.m.
This coffeeshop is one of the pioneers in Amsterdam and still ran by its original owner. This time I was looking for a strong stuff. I got myself the top of the range hash, waterworks and a bit of some green.
Tweede Kamer being my 3rd coffeeshop I must admit that the selection here is the best. Top drawer stuff here. It was quite at first but then suddenly it was packed. Also the cafe is quite small. Still the first place I'm going next time I'm in town. How cool is the logo? I am still amazed by the design.
4. Green House Centrum, Oudezijds Voorburgwal 191;
Green House Centrum is a famous brand name. They say it is one of the most famous coffeeshops in Amsterdam! This is where all the big stars come to hang around. Beautiful decor, cozy terrace with a view of a stunning canal in the Red Light District. My personal favourite is Great Mocha special. Weed menu is superb, prices are slightly higher than other places.
5. Boerejongens, Utrechtsestraat 21
Mon-Fri 7am - 12:45 am
Sat-Sun 9am - 12:45 am
I noticed this place because of the queues outside. At first glance, it looks like an old apothecary. I went in to see what they sold and the place was packed! Despite this, when I got to the counter, the staff were very friendly and took the time to help and advise me. Glad they did because their flower is strong! Worth a visit if you’re looking for new experience! It's different from all other places.
Abraxas, Jonge Roelensteeg 12-14;
I finished my trip in this wonderful place. Have never had an edible brownie as good as what they sell here! Edibles are 7-12 euros each and taste so amazing. Best ever hot chocolate. Atmosphere of the coffee shop is nice and relaxed.
That's all from me, I hope you enjoyed the read!

I am so excited to use RAW accessories daily. I am super intrigued to get my hands on the new RAW Low Key Backpack. It doesn’t have as many logos as common RAW product hence it does not scream “I smoke weed” shout out when you wear one.
